The Indian Association of Physician Assistants (IAPA) was founded in 1998 to assist Physician Assistants.
The mission of IAPA is to promote excellence in medical knowledge and skills of Physician Assistants and to provide educational resources in support of that goal.

Anyone who has completed the physician assistant bachelor's degree or a post graduate programme in physician assistantship from a recognized university can write to the IAPA. Upon approval by the committee, the membership form can be downloaded, completed and mailed back to the IAPA office

Universities and hospitals that are conducting PA programme can write to IAPA for associate membership with an outline of their course curriculum.
Annual membership fees of Rs.500, which has to be renewed every year.
The name of associate members will be included in the IAPA web page in 'The list of PA course teaching institutions accredidated by IAPA'
